Ribble Valley Wedding Photographer
Living in Lancashire I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by some absolutely stunning countryside. You don’t get more beautiful though than the incredible Ribble Valley. It’s right on my doorstep so I’m often booked by couples looking for a Ribble Valley wedding photographer. People travel from all over the country to get married here as, along with those breathtaking views, there is no shortage of gorgeous wedding venues.
Based within the heart of the county, the Ribble Valley lies between Lancashire’s mill towns and the edge of south Yorkshire. Clitheroe, with its medieval castle, sits in the centre of the valley. Made up of small villages, bustling towns and beautiful hills and rivers it’s not surprising to hear that the Ribble Valley is classed as one of the most idyllic places to live in the UK!
Wedding venues in the Ribble Valley
Imagine saying your vows surrounded by green fields. Sipping champagne with a backdrop of the rolling hills or having your wedding breakfast in one of the Ribble Valley’s incredible wedding venues. There are so many reasons why people choose to get married here. The views are amazing and always make for incredible photos. Whatever the weather (this is Lancashire afterall, sun is not guaranteed!).
I think the Ribble Valley must have more wedding venues than anywhere else in the country, couples really are spoilt for choice. These are just a few of my favourites.
Bartle Hall is set on the edge of the Ribble Valley. A converted country house that they describe as ‘relaxed luxury’. Ive got to say that phrase sums the experience up perfectly.
Surrounded by 16 acres of landscaped gardens (and some wonderful wild areas which I love making the most of for photos) Bartle Hall plays host to hundreds of weddings a year. Couples can choose to take over the entire place as exclusive use or decide between holding their wedding in the house or making use of the barn style Balmoral Suite with its private courtyard and BBQ area.
I’m a huge fan of Bartle Hall and it’s easy to see why they’ve been voted the best wedding venue in Lancashire and the North West on many occasions. These are some of my favourite Bartle Hall weddings.
An old, converted mill which houses a brewery. Sounds like a dream doesn’t it! What a place for a party!
This is such a great venue. Set right in the heart of Clitheroe, the Mill has been lovingly converted over the last few years into one of Lancashire’s most unique wedding venues. Ceremonies are held in the Mill, guests sit on converted cinema seats (I LOVE this touch) and the walls have been kept bare for that industrial, urban vibe. The oldest part of the Mill, the weaving shed, was recently converted into the 1823 Bistro and Hotel. This is where wedding breakfast and receptions take place or for couples who like to party they can hold their entire day in the Mill itself, surrounded by exposed brick and huge windows it’s a brilliant room and I always love it when I get weddings here.
I recently photographed John and Ann’s wedding there. They had so many brilliant ideas for their day and I can’t wait to shoot another Holmes Mill wedding.
Right in the heart of the Ribble Valley lies Mitton Hall. As a wedding venue it’s breathtaking. The location is beautiful and guests are greeted by incredible views as they relax in the gardens after the ceremony.
Mitton Hall manages to combine the grandeur of a country manor with the cosiness of a rural retreat. The Party Room is filled with natural light so is perfect for civil ceremonies (us photographer’s love natural light and lots of windows!) while in the evening it’s a great space to let your hair down and hit the dance floor.
My favourite thing about Mitton Hall though…the food! It’s delicious. I’ve sampled a lot of wedding dinners in my time and Mitton is always my number one!
I’ve been lucky enough to photograph a couple of Mitton Hall weddings. These are just a few of my favourites.
Inn at Whitewell
The Inn at Whitewell always comes top of the list whenever I think of Ribble Valley wedding venues. This gastropub is equally popular with ramblers and wedding couples alike and it’s easy to see why. With oak beams, stone floors and open fires this is a cosy winter wedding venue but the amazing surroundings and the stepping stones across the river (yes, really!) make it perfect for spring and summer weddings too. A perfect all rounder!
Plus there’s a church right next door which makes traveling between ceremony and reception venues nice and easy!
I’m a huge fan of the Inn at Whitewell, it’s perfect for relaxed couples looking for a chilled out venue for their day and they are my favourite kinds of couples! I would love to work at the Inn at Whitewell so if you are getting married there please get in touch!
Just beyond Clitheroe, down winding country lines, lies Eaves Hall. A manor house and luxury wedding venue it is surrounded by the stunning countryside of the Ribble Valley. An exclusive use venue, couples get the entire place to themselves on their wedding day, as well as the use of a Lodge which is perfect for groom prep or for families to stay over.
The seven acres of grounds are great to explore with couples. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of portrait shoots here. Inside is equally stunning which means Eaves Hall is the perfect venue for winter weddings or those unpredictable rainy days. At that point I break out my lights and we can get all creative with your photos!
I’m always over the moon when I get booked to photograph an Eaves Hall wedding. Check out my most recent one – for Katie and Mark here.
Beeston Manor is a 16th century barn, complete with exposed beams and beautiful sandstone walls. Over the years it’s been carefully converted into one of the Ribble Valley’s most beautiful rural wedding venues. In the right season the barn is surrounded by cornfields, I obviously take full advantage of these for pictures whenever I get the chance!
This venue has won so many awards and was recently named “Wedding Events Team of the Year” in the 2019 Wedding Industry Awards. You know you’re in good hands with the team here with an accolade like that!
I recently photographed Lisa and Andy’s Beeston Manor wedding. Take a look over on my blog.
Last, but by no means least, is the brilliant Bashall Barn. With breath taking views across the Ribble Valley and great food photographing weddings at this venue is always a highlight of my year!
All food is produced on site so couples can be sure they’re getting an excellent dinner – as well as wood fired pizzas or a hog roast! If you’re both foodies then this is the venue for you!
The venue itself is a unique barn conversion, with the option to get married outside – providing our Lancashire weather plays ball! The huge glass doors in the main room give a real outside in feel to the place which is perfect when you’re getting married in the heart of such amazing countryside.
If you’re looking for a Bashall Barn wedding photographer then I’d love to hear from you! Get in touch if you’re getting married anywhere in the Ribble Valley and are on the hunt for a wedding photographer.
