Don’t get me wrong, I love UK weddings, but if you want an adventure…if you want to do something really different, destination weddings are where it’s at.
They just hit differently. What’s not to love about getting married on a clifftop overlooking an active volcano? Or a ceremony in a vineyard in Tuscany, then going for traditional Italian pasta afterwards?
You’re surrounded by the people you love the most, in an incredible place, for a complete one-off life experience. And the weather’s almost guaranteed (99%, anyway).

For £2,000* (the same price as my ‘Best Of You’ package) you’ve got an onsite photographer for the whole experience – not just the wedding day.
I’ll be researching the area in advance to find the best scenic spots and panoramas for couple’s portrait shots. I’ll immerse myself in the local culture to find destinations off the beaten path, so you can get shots – and experiences – far beyond the typical tourist traps.
I’ll be onsite from at least the day before, until the day after, so we can make the most of it. We’ll go and explore to get the best shots we can.
On my last destination wedding assignment in Santorini, we were diving in and out of rooftop bars to get the best shot of the Blue Domes of Oia – without the crowds (we ended up persuading one bar owner to open early for us to get the shot we were after). It was the perfect way to top off a really stunning set of destination wedding photos.

Why you should hire your own destination wedding photographer
- You can get to know your photographer, and plan the shots you want. We’ll meet up before the big day, and look at options to make sure that I get the very best out of every shot.
- You won’t be stuck with a limited selection of local photographers. Take your pick of who’ll take your pics, based on style and skill – not location.
- You’ll get more for your money. When you take your photographer with you, you’re also taking a tour guide, researcher, and spare pair of hands to make sure your destination wedding goes off without a hitch (I probably shouldn’t be your translator, though).
